National Newark and Essex by Roger Conant Cranse

Roger Conant Cranse (National Newark and Essex) was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1963 and served in the US Peace Corps in Nepal and Vietnam. His memoir, The Hearts and Minds Guys, about his experiences during the Vietnam war appeared in Raritan and was named a Notable Essay in The Best American Essays of 2013. Roger has spent most of his career teaching at the Community College of Vermont, where he also lives.
